This project updated the original report done in 1993 with the objective of developing a chloramination manual for water utilities on the use of chloramines in water treatment and they role they play in overall water quality improvements. The research included literature reviews, surveys from 68 utilities and case studies. It is concluded that chloramines are not simply an add-on process, but must be fully integrated into the design and operation of treatment facilities. A new decision tree along with an interactive CD guides the utility through the decision optimization process.
